
Official Launch of the Brazil-China Science and Technology Innovation Center
Rio de Janeiro, Dec 13 (People's Daily / Chen Yiming, Hou Tianze) — The Brazil-China Science and Technology Innovation Center was officially launched recently at the Technology Park of the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro in Brazil. Positioned to "drive energy cooperation through scientific and technological innovation," the center will focus on the research, development, and commercialization of cutting-edge technologies in the energy sector.
Mr. Roberto Medronho, Rector of the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, stated that the center will build a bridge for technical exchange and a platform for sharing achievements for researchers from both countries. Through joint technological breakthroughs and cooperative talent training, the scientific research advantages of both nations will be transformed into industrial competitiveness.
Ms. Sylvia Anjos, Diretora Executiva de Exploração e Produção (E&P), stated that the four-party cooperation brings complementary advantages, making scientific and technological innovation a new engine to promote comprehensive cooperation and high-quality development in the energy sector between Brazil and China.
According to reports, the center is jointly built by China National Offshore Oil Corporation (CNOOC), China University of Petroleum (Beijing), Petrobras, and the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro.
